The name Apelila in the Samoan language means April. There's a deep connection with this name as it was the due month of our first child who, if it were a girl, we would have named her Apelila for April.
The collection is carefully selected and strongly influenced by modern and romantic trends. In choosing a business name, I wanted something feminine and meaningful. My feelings were that I would treat this business as the daughter I never had.
