There is no doubt about it, the Northern Territory has some of the most unique locations to host your upcoming wedding. And, if you are looking to really embrace what the NT has on offer, an outback style wedding is a top choice.
Given that, we have chosen our top 3 locations and venues across the region. However, thankfully when it comes to the NT you are spoilt for choice when choosing an outback wedding.
First up is Alice Springs. Situated on the edge of the Simpson Gap with unique areas and endless natural backdrops for those red centre wedding photos, Ooraminna Station is a perfect choice.
With red sand hills, bushland roads, a peaceful waterhole, escarpments and rock formations you can truly make that outback wedding vision come to life.
In addition to the location, the station owners spare nothing to make this your dream wedding. Think sunset cocktails and dinner in the location of your choice. However, if you prefer a more intimate affair in which the word stress doesn’t exist, an elopement could be on the cards. Whichever you may choose, their dedicated in-house chef can design a mouth watering menu!
Without a doubt, you are guaranteed to enjoy a night of dancing under the stars and creating everlasting memories.

Next up is, Katherine. Since you looking for one of the most unique places to tie the knot in Katherine. Look no further. Nitmiluk National Park has an abundance of amazing gorges and spots that you can get hitched so all in all you are spoilt for choice in this location alone.
Undoubtedly, Nitmiluk is perfect for the adventure seekers! Pictured left the beautiful couple wed in the 10th gorge and accessed the spot by a heli ride. Talk about adventure!
We spoke with Prudence Elizabeth Photography who was kind enough to share some images from the wedding she photographed for Katrina & Mark! In addition, Prudence shared her top recommendations for spots in the national park that would be beautiful to host a truly unique outback wedding.

Lastly, we move up to the Top End. Situated just over an hour’s drive from Darwin and set amongst the banks of the Adelaide River. Mt Bundy Station is the venue to choose if you’re wanting a true country wedding. The cattle farm was established in 1911 and offers a unique venue that you are your guests can stay and celebrate your day.
With the country style photo opportunities, you can snap pics with some in-house residents (cattle, horses, buffalo!) does it get more Territorian than that?
Their catering options include a ‘cattleman’s buffet’ which is themed to suit your reception. However, if you are looking for something a little bit lighter, their grazing plates are a popular choice.

‘We were incredibly privileged to be taken to a location on the property that has only been seen by a select few. Long grass, 4WD dust, termite mounds, Champagne Mountain and Bens creek were just a few of the incredible scenes that day’.
