If there is one piece of advice that Jane & Mat could share to couples that are planning their wedding in the Northern Territory, what would it be? The territory has so much to offer! Use your wedding as the perfect opportunity to show your interstate guests how great this place is! And, that is exactly what Jane & Mat did with their day. Designed around showcasing the wonderful place they call home, we would say this was a true Territorian experience.
How did they meet? Well, Jane grew up next door to Mat’s Nonno & Nonna. With family at the forefront of their love story, they made sure to incorporate this into different aspects of their wedding day.
Their bridal party was made up entirely of their siblings. Jane’s bride tribe included her two sisters and her two brothers. Similarly, Mat’s groom crew was made up of his two brothers and his sister. They involved their nieces and nephews as flower girls and page boys. To incorporate Mat’s Italian heritage into the day, the family indulged in wood fire pizzas for dinner. Jane’s mum and godmother added their special touch by creating the delicious wedding cake.
With 150 interstate guests, this couple just knew they had to show off how amazing the Territory really is. Starting the wedding week off on Wednesday. Jane & Mat met with everyone for fish & chips at Cullen bay, they kicked back and enjoyed the views before a week of fun-filled activities. Next, on the Thursday all the men went out on a fishing charter while the ladies stayed ashore for the hens night at the loading bay. Come Friday night, everyone was back together for a charted sunset cruise. Is there a better way to show off the Territory than with our iconic top end sunsets? Definitely not!
And as if that all wasn’t enough of a Territory Experience, Wildlife Parks brought along a few surprise guests to the pre-wedding drinks. Baby crocs! They also hosted a raffle at their wedding to send 4 people off to the Crocosaurus cove, cage of death! Thankfully for the winners it also included a recovery session at the ski club afterwards. We think they would have needed it!
