Romantic darwin wedding

The mood set itself with the illuminated and romantic setting at Pee Wee’s. Hannah & Matt tied the knot in one of the most stunning settings, complete with dreamy styling and delicious foods. In which, they pulled together just 4 weeks out from the date! Because for these two it made perfect sense to go ahead with their plans despite everything 2020 entailed.
Before we get into all the details surrounding their romantic Darwin Wedding, you know we adore a good love story! So that’s exactly what we have for you.

From longreach to Darwin and everywhere in between

Far from the ocean that was present on their wedding day, this loved up couple met in Longreach, Western Queensland. Matt was working in a rural hospital and, Hannah was a ‘just visiting’ student on work placement.

At this time, Hannah was still living in Townsville and, Matt was doing remote work while based in Brisbane. As their relationship progressed, it crossed many kilometres from outback QLD and then accumulating multiple frequent flyer points from across the continent and beyond.

Fast forward ten months, they were finally living in Townsville together when a work opportunity arose for Matt in Darwin, they were quick to move here. Settling in and giving them a fresh start, Darwin quickly felt like home.

Hannah and Matt postponed their original plans and made this day come together with only four weeks’ notice. With video calling being the new normal for 2020, they live-streamed the ceremony and speeches. Meaning friends and family interstate and overseas could still see these precious moments. They collected video messages from some of their favourite people who couldn’t be present to play throughout the wedding.

We asked how their first dance went down, “We didn’t have an official first dance, but when the night evolved into an impromptu karaoke session we had a dance to our friend singing Aerosmith ‘I don’t want to miss a thing’, a memory we will treasure forever!”
